Boost Your Moods Using Foods

If you feel blue sometimes for no obvious reasons, then here are five foods to consider. However, if you are watching weight, or allergic, then be moderate on your consumption of these foods!

Step One

Milk is rich in calcium and provides amino acid tryptophan for bone- building properties. Calcium is also known to calm your nerves, and tryptophan produces serotonin which help elevates mood.

So drink up a cup of milk!

Step Two

Dark chocolate is high in polyphenols, which are known to improve cognitive function. If consume in small amount, the phenylethylamines that are in dark chocolate release endorphins in the brain, and promote a feeling of attraction.

Remember, eat just a little!

Step Three

Nuts are knows to provide proteins, and in a certain nut such as Brazil nuts, are rich in mineral selenium. It is said that selenium help maintaining good moods, and it is essential in preventing depression.

Have some nuts!

Step Four

Vegetables such as spinach, collard green, and kale are rich in minerals. They are good for anxiety and depression. They are high in magnesium, vitamins, and folic acid, which help to keep you calm, and relaxing.

Step Five

Fish such as tuna, salmon, mackerel are rich in omega-3 fatty acids. They are essential for normal brain development and function. The omega-3 fatty acids may also influent the serotonin production to reduce the level of depression.
