1) It was amazing to see the moon through the branches with the colors shining around it. I took this photo at around 5:30 AM. It was a welcoming sight in a cold cold world.
2) If you noticed, my brain is getting lazy in coming up with the title for Friday Random. I need to play that brain training game that I saw advertising (Lumosity, I think!). (Na, no time to play game..)
3) My sister sent me this blob of raw Shea butter to use on my dry and crack skin. It has been a harsh winter for us this year. I am wondering if anyone used Shea butter as a sole lotion.
4) I have noticed that people are now seeking for organic and raw products to use. Also, anything that labeled organic seems to sell so much better and faster, even though the word organic has a broad meaning and often mis-used.
5) Back to knitting! I made this cable twisted head band for my daughter after I read that the pattern for this very same thing sold for $70 bucks. That was ridiculous, and money doesn’t grow on tree for me.
Joining Random 5 Friday!
Your scarf is so cute! I love the pattern and color combo 😉 Are you going to make it to sell on Etsy?
No more Etsy shop! It’s not worth the trouble to go through, especially with the weather we are having!
Nice head band! I have never used shea butter but I hear it works wonders.
LOVE LOVE the headband. $70 that is a lot of money.
Shea butter I have never tried it I do hope it works for you, you have a very caring sister. Organic well being a farmer I am not sure everything labelled organic is that anymore since it brings a higher price. Buy from Farmers directly to know for sure. Hug B
$70 buck, wow!! that is highway robbery … that is nuts!!!!!!!!!!!! i am glad you are creative enough to make one. that is amazing. do you have an Etsy shop … just a thought. ( :
I used to have an Etsy shop, but I saw that I was paying more toward the fees to list them than actually making a profit..
Now, I just make hats, scarfs, and head band for family and friends..
Love the head band! I would like to start knitting, I think it would be good to quiet my mind.. 🙂 I have never used shea butter but we have the dry cracked skin going on here in Missouri.. Brrr.
There are so many beautiful sights all around us. I often get to see the stunning morning sky and moon as it is setting. Yeah for you to enjoy the beauty and capture a shot on your camera.
I am with you on your second random and #4.
I like your knitting project; awesome color combination. I bet your daughter loves it too.
How lovely! I appreciate your comment about Etsy. It’s something I was looking into also, but it sounds like a discouraging experience.
Hi Bev,
I sold some scarf, hats and headbands through the word of mouth, locally, to friends and my daughters’ friends than on Etsy! You can try this approach first, and Etsy later. I just don’t like the trouble of running to the post office or dealing with difficult buyers.
What a lovely headband! And I would think shea butter would make a great skin softener.
Your moon shot is glorious – you were rewarded for rising early. Happy knitting!
Lucky daughter! That headband is gorgeous! 🙂
Beautiful shot! Love the head band.
Thanks for sharing.
Hope to see you on my blog:)
I could use some of the shea butter for the heels of my feet, all year round.
Wonderfully eerie moon shot.
By the way, if you mix the she butter (you might have to melt it) with coconut oil, it’s great on the feet!
